- Answering and making calls;
- Managing and coordinating calendars;
- Handling office management tasks including filing, data entry, maintaining supplies, and organizing files;
- Communicating in person, by phone, and digitally with members of the congregation, members of the public, local government, and outside contractors;
- Drafting correspondence, invoices and donation receipts; tracking and ordering supplies;
- Processing supplier invoices for payment;
- Preparing and sending email notices and announcements;
- Creating flyers;
- Maintaining bookkeeping records;
- Assisting the synagogue's Rabbi, Executive Committee and Sisterhood;
- Coordinating with the synagogue custodian; and
- Assist with event planning, including logistics, coordination, vendor communication, and onsite setup.
- General ability to work with word processing and general office software, calendar software, spreadsheet software, membership software, bookkeeping/accounting software, and creativity software.
- Ability to draft professional correspondence, emails, and other communications in clear understandable language without typographical or grammatical errors.
- Excellent typing speed combined with strong proofreading and transcription skills for accurate document preparation.
- Clear communications skills and ability to engage with the staff, members, and public in a way that accredits our institution.
