TITLE: Grades PK\-12 School Health and Physical Education Coordinator (Part\-time Teacher Leader Stipend Position)JOB GOAL: The PK\-12 Health/PE Coordinator works with school and district leaders, and Health/PE teachers to ensure students have access to high quality Health and Physical Education programs aligned to state standards, to successfully meet all graduation requirements and readiness for a two or four year college program or direct entry to the workforce or military. QUALIFICATIONS: 1\. Valid Rhode Island certification as a Health/PE teacher.2\. Five years of successful Health/PE teaching experience.
3\. Demonstrated knowledge of PK\-12 Health/PE program requirements as evidenced by advanced degree, course work, training, and/or professional experience.4\. Any exceptions to the above as may be acceptable to the SuperintendentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1\. Prior experience as a Teacher Leader.2\.
Certified as a CPR/AED instructor.3\. Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, industry and community partners, students and families.4\. Experience and expertise in program development, data collection and analysis, program evaluation and reporting.5\. Excellent oral and written communication skills and technology use.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1\. Facilitate the integrity of instruction of the Health/PE program.2\. Coordinate the delivery and analysis of data .3\. Collaborate with the District Nurse Coordinator to provide annual training in CPR/AED for staff and faculty.
4\. Collaborate with school and district leaders, and Health/PEs to Identify areas of program improvement and support/monitor progress of improvement areas.5\. Develop and manage the department budget.6\. Facilitate and support team professional learning.7\.
Serve as a member of the school leadership teams.8\. Serve as a member of the Health and Wellness Committee.9\. Perform other related work as required by the Principals or Assistant Superintendent.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 3 Year AppointmentSchedule to be determined by the School Principal in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent. Will receive two additional administrative periods per day and complete an estimated 60 hours per year for hours required beyond the contractual day to be submitted on time sheet.
Compensation $5,000 per year for successful completion of job responsibilities. Stipend will be paid in 2 installments December/June. EVALUATION: Annual, based on above job responsibilities.REPORTS TO: Building Principals and Assistant Superintendent
