Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail\-oriented Remote Medical Assistant to support our healthcare providers with administrative and clinical coordination tasks. This role is ideal for someone with medical office experience who is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
As a 1099 independent contractor, you will assist with patient coordination, documentation, and communication while helping ensure efficient daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment coordination
- Communicate with patients via phone, email, or secure messaging
- Assist with intake documentation and patient record updates
- Support providers with chart preparation and follow\-up tasks
- Verify insurance information and maintain patient records
- Coordinate referrals, lab orders, and prescription requests
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not required
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet work environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy practices
- Remote healthcare or telehealth support experience
- Experience with AdvMD EHR System
- Insurance verification or prior authorization experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation
- Fully remote position
