Overview
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and motivated Escrow Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating real estate transactions by providing administrative support throughout the escrow process. This position requires a strong understanding of real estate contracts, regulations, and financial analysis, making it essential for candidates to be organized and efficient in their work.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of escrow documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate communication between buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Conduct credit analysis and underwriting processes to assess borrower qualifications.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions and ensure timely updates are provided to all parties involved.
- Utilize math skills for calculations related to closing costs, prorations, and other financial aspects of the transaction.
- Familiarize yourself with Fair Housing regulations to ensure compliance in all dealings.
- Perform 10 key typing for data entry tasks related to escrow files and documentation.
- Support loan origination processes by gathering necessary documentation from clients.
- Stay updated on TILA (Truth in Lending Act) requirements and FNMA (Federal National Mortgage Association) guidelines.
- Previous experience as an Escrow Assistant or in a similar role within the banking or real estate industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of real estate contracts and escrow processes.
- Proficiency in credit analysis and underwriting principles.
- Excellent math skills with attention to detail for accurate calculations.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations is a plus.
- Ability to type efficiently using 10 key methods for data entry tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and team members.
