Overview
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and proactive Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role involves supporting workers' compensation law cases from inception through resolution, ensuring efficient case management, thorough legal research, and precise document preparation. Duties
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of workers' compensation law cases, including case intake, document review, and file organization
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and insurance carriers
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate and timely record\-keeping
- Interview clients, witnesses, and medical providers to gather relevant information for case development
- Review medical records, employment records, and other pertinent documents to assess case viability
- Proofread and transcribe legal documents to maintain high standards of accuracy and clarity
- Support litigation efforts through document review, organization of evidence, and preparation for hearings or trials
- Maintain organized electronic files while adhering to confidentiality protocols related to personal injury law and workers’ compensation regulations
- Paralegal experience with a focus on workers’ compensation law or personal injury law is highly preferred
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as PCLaw and document management systems like iManage
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast\-paced environment
- Experience with legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and document review processes
- Knowledge of relevant laws including workers’ compensation law, UCC law, tribal law \& regulations, family law, landlord\-tenant law, securities law, patent law, environmental law, estate planning, immigration law, land use regulations, securities law, litigation procedures \& rules
- Strong communication skills for interviewing clients and coordinating with various stakeholders
- Ability to handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, phone etiquette \& executive administrative support with professionalism
