Patient Service Representative (PSR)

MaineHealth – Scarborough Primary Care

Location: 49 Spring Street, Scarborough, Maine

Schedule: Full Time, Consistent Schedule

Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Friday 8:30 a.m. \-5:30p.m.

(One\-hour lunch daily)*

Work Type: On\-site (no remote flexibility)

### Position Summary

MaineHealth Scarborough Primary Care is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our team. The PSR serves as an important point of contact for our patients and helps ensure a smooth and positive experience at the end of each visit. This role is responsible for greeting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and performing general office duties, with a primary focus on check\-out functions.

### Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients and visitors
• Perform patient check\-out, including scheduling follow\-up visits and providing visit documentation as appropriate
• Answer incoming phone calls and route messages accurately and efficiently
• Schedule and reschedule appointments in the electronic medical record system
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
• Collect co\-payments and assist with basic billing questions
• Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff
• Complete general administrative and clerical duties as assigned

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: N/A
• Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
• Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
