JOB SUMMARY
The Housing Production Assistant will support planning, production, and logistics for all the movable assets and the NVO Housing Team.
This is a temporary, full\-time, non\-exempt role, based in Gerlach, NV running from March to November, 2026

DUTIES \& ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Administrative Support (60%)
- Support production processes directly related to the responsibilities of the NVO Housing Team.
- Help ensure proper licensing and insurance with the NV DMV for the Burning Man Trailer Fleet.
- Ensure that all the PUA documentation is current and maintain direct line of communication with the users about any issues with their trailers.
- Define and communicate with the PUA users their exact responsibilities for the maintenance and care of the PUA trailers
- Assist the NVO Associate Director with the allocation of all housing assets (stay current with the housing request form responses)
- Maintain the department’s Google Drive and other relevant workspace tools, ensuring all meeting notes and pertinent documents are posted and available for review to the appropriate users.
- Relays urgent messages between members of the staff, volunteers, participants, and law enforcement officials in Gerlach and on playa as the task pertains to housing.
- Reasonably and calmly assists housed occupants with inquiries and provides direction to the appropriate departments.
- Becomes familiar with the different platforms used in the department used for booking and organizing.
- Support NVO Housing team members in assigned, project‐based work.
- Maintain radio availability pre\-season, during the event, and post\-event.
- Create, maintain, and coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Coordinate necessary cross\-departmental meetings and project work and communications.
- Escalate issues through proper protocols.
- Manage the Housing vehicles rental fleet.
- Perform other light Project Management duties as assigned. Maintain clear and regular lines of communication with Housing Team members, providing regular reports and feedback as necessary.
- Attend Burning Man Staff Meetings as requested.
- Attend and participate in A\-Team Meetings.
- Support the Gerlach office as needed, including assisting staff and visitors at the office front desk.
- Contribute to the Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) guides for assigned projects. Assist NVO Housing managers and staff with preparing and maintaining SOPs.
- Abide by the rules and codes of conduct described in the NVO Manager Manual, NVO Compass, Ranch Protocols, and the Housing Team’s S.O.P.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the NVO Partner and Housing Managers.
- Familiarity with Burning Man.
- Experience with event\-based production work.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple leaders and evaluate and prioritize workload as necessary.
- Ability to think quickly, problem solve, apply critical thinking to situations, and remain calm.

- Working knowledge of Google products (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Clearly and concisely communicates verbally and through written correspondence with the receiving party with appropriate professionalism. Experienced and comfortable with using 2 way radios.
- Able to evaluate and re\-prioritize work, quickly switching between tasks as necessary.

- Willingness to relocate to Gerlach, NV, for the event season, April through early November.
- Working knowledge of Filemaker.
- Experience living in remote locations close to a small crew of people.
- At least one season working for Burning Man.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.

COMPENSATION:
Individual compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors, including prior experience and geographical location. The anticipated pay rate for this position is $18\.00 to $21\.00 per hour.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
* Off\-playa: Work is primarily sedentary in nature but could include walking or using some form of transportation. Some work will be in outside weather conditions and exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and possible temperature extremes.
