Junior Staff Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a detail\-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in various accounting disciplines, including corporate accounting, with proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring adherence to GAAP and other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Desktop, and Digits.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to ensure accurate financial data
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing for internal management and external stakeholders
• Handle journal entries, accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and ledger maintenance
• Support tax\-related activities including preparation of tax schedules or supporting documentation for tax filings

Requirements

• Proven experience in corporate accounting with knowledge of GAAP standards
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Digits, Tax Dome, Drake Tax or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits \& credits, journal entries, account analysis, and financial statement preparation
• Experience with financial report interpretation and financial management practices such as budgeting and forecasting
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements related to securities law or government agencies
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and bank reconciliation tasks
• Effective communication skills for financial report writing and interpretation
• Ability to mentor team members or interns in technical accounting procedures
• Relevant certifications or degrees in Accounting or Finance are highly desirable
