Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision and professionalism
- Support physicians during examinations and procedures in outpatient clinics or hospital settings, including dermatology and emergency medicine units
- Prepare patients for treatments or diagnostic tests, including X\-ray procedures and medication administration when authorized
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, wound dressing changes, and assisting with minor procedures in various specialties like geriatrics or medical\-surgical units
- Manage administrative responsibilities including appointment scheduling, ICD coding for diagnoses, and maintaining accurate documentation of patient interactions
- Support emergency response efforts by understanding physiology fundamentals and assisting in Level I or Level II trauma center environments when needed
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or specialty areas such as dermatology or urgent care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for efficient data entry and retrieval
- Experience working in hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is advantageous
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration support, X\-ray assistance, and intake procedures with attention to detail
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU)
