ABOUT THE ROLE…
The Payroll Manager is a vital member of our Finance department who will manage the end\-to\-end payroll process, seek creative opportunities for improvement, and partner with leaders and teams across the company as our subject matter expert for all things related to payroll.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
· Lead and provide oversight into the organization's multi\-state/multi\-company payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with IRS and legal requirements. This includes audits for quality assurance, ensuring seamless on\-time and complete delivery of accurate payroll.
· Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial variance analytics, management reports, and any requested ad hoc reporting related to payroll
· Provide a detailed annual payroll budget inclusive of total compensation costs for all companies
· Maintain and prepare monthly reserve schedules for bonus, medical benefits, employer contributions, and complete related journal entries
· Respond to accounting and financial inquiries received from management, CPA, auditors, and others by researching and interpreting data
· Resolves discrepancies with payroll and/or benefit information and/or documentation
· Responsible for managing all state regulatory payroll compliance, annual 401K audit, annual workers compensation audit, annual 401K non\-discriminatory testing, annual financial audit, etc.
· Identify and implement improvement projects to optimize payroll process across entities.
· Other additional assignments as instructed by manager
REQUIREMENTS…
· 8\-10\+ years of related experience
· Extensive financial knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, reporting, reconciliation, variance analysis, internal control, journal entries, and taxes
· BA from an accredited college or university in accounting or a related field preferred.
· Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
· Supervise modifications in regulations and laws relevant to payroll which calls for organization policy modifications and inform the Finance Manager of the company
· Analytical team player with strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and customer service
· Proven leadership/management skills
· Must be proficient with ADP Workforce Now, Enhanced Time, Time and Attendance, and Payroll.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
