We are a small, growing podiatry practice in Denton, Texas, focused on patient\-centered care including wound management and foot care (particularly for at\-risk patients such as those with diabetes or mobility issues). We're seeking a reliable, compassionate, and adaptable individual to fill a versatile hybrid role. This position involves direct patient care—both in our office and via mobile home visits—plus front desk/receptionist responsibilities to support our close\-knit team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone motivated to enter or advance in healthcare. We prioritize the right personality and work ethic over extensive prior experience and are willing to provide hands\-on training. For strong candidates without a Medical Assistant (MA) certification, we offer the potential to sponsor and pay for your MA training/licensing in exchange for a signed employment commitment agreement (typically 1\-2 years of service post\-certification, with prorated repayment if the commitment isn't met). Hours start part\-time (e.g., 10\-30 per week) with strong potential to increase to full\-time based on performance and practice growth. Short\-term or long\-term fits are welcome—this role offers flexibility and real\-world medical experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care (In\-Office and Mobile):
- Assist with wound care procedures (e.g., dressing changes, basic debridement support, monitoring, and patient education under supervision).
- Perform foot care services
- Conduct mobile patient visits to homes for wound care and nail services—using the company\-provided vehicle
- Prepare treatment areas, sterilize equipment, assist with documentation, and ensure patient comfort during visits.
- Greet patients, handle check\-in/check\-out, schedule appointments (in\-office and mobile), and manage phone/email communications.
- Process payments, verify insurance, update records in our EHR system, and handle light administrative tasks like supply ordering.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming office environment in our small practice.
- Strictly follow HIPAA, infection control, and Texas health regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the provider and team for efficient operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication and people skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, documentation, and emails.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to learn and commit to professional growth.
- Prior experience in medical assisting, wound care, nail technology, customer service, or reception.
- Current certifications (e.g., Medical Assistant, CPR/First Aid, etc)
- Familiarity with medical terminology, EHR software, or basic medical information
- Flexible schedule
- Paid training
