About Breadwinners Academy

Breadwinners Academy is a Cleveland based nonprofit delivering culturally relevant, project based financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs for middle school, high school, and young adults. Our work centers on real world learning, student voice, and intentional outcomes that prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

Role Summary

The Program Director plays a leadership role in delivering and supporting Breadwinners Academy programming during the school day and after school, based on contract needs. This role requires daytime availability and flexibility to support in school instruction, OST programming, recruitment efforts, and community engagement.

The Program Director works directly with students, school partners, families, and community partners while also supporting data collection and program execution alongside the Executive Director.

This is a hybrid role that includes in person instruction, local travel, and remote administrative work.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Student Support

Teach financial literacy programming during the school day and in OST or afterschool settings based on contract needs

Support student preparation for the Financial Flex Academic Challenge

Maintain a positive, engaging, and culturally responsive classroom environment

Ensure programming is completed by 4 pm daily when working in schools

Recruitment and Outreach

Assist with recruiting students for summer programs including Books 2 Bread and Dream Chasers

Support student interviews and selection processes

Assist with data collection and data entry related to recruitment and enrollment

Meet with parents and guardians when needed

Communicate with school staff and administrators as required

Program Leadership and Operations

Support Financial Flex planning and execution

Assist the Executive Director with program related data collection and reporting

Work directly with community partners to support program delivery and engagement

Support coordination across CMSD and first ring suburb schools

Provide leadership support across assigned programs and initiatives

Collaboration and Communication

Participate in regular check ins with the Executive Director

Communicate clearly about schedules, progress, and program needs

Represent Breadwinners Academy professionally with students, families, schools, and partners

Location and Schedule

Hybrid role with in person work required

Travel required across CMSD and first ring suburb schools

Daytime availability required

Schedule Note

This role requires daytime availability. Schedule will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation

OST and afterschool programming sessions are paid at $100 per session

Out of class work including planning, recruitment, meetings, and data support, is paid at $30 per hour

Ability to travel locally and manage a flexible schedule
