Duties

• Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery times.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, clients, and warehouse staff via multi\-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management software to track shipments, delivery statuses, and inventory movements.
• Manage shipping \& receiving schedules, ensuring timely dispatching of freight while addressing any delays or issues proactively.
• Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle assignments, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.
• Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks within the supply chain for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or supply chain environments; familiarity with freight operations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of transportation planning, logistics practices, and supply chain management principles.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or similar platforms.
• Skilled in using GPS, GIS tools, and other route optimization technologies to enhance dispatch efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi\-line phone systems professionally and courteously.
• Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating data related to freight movement, fleet performance, and shipping schedules.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with shipping \& receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third\-party logistics) operations is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast\-paced environment.
