Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Chiropractic Assistant / Receptionist to join our vibrant healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) system
- Understand and be able to decipher what our insurance biller said is owed for each patient based on their verification
- Collect payment and schedule/reschedule patients
- Handle phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear communication and appointment confirmations
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review procedures
- Assist with billing processes, including medical coding (CPT, ICD\-10/ICD\-9\) and payment posting
- Support clinical staff with intake procedures, care plan documentation, and basic administrative support
- Manage filing of medical records, organize electronic files within EMR/EHR systems
- Perform general clerical duties such as data entry (including 10 key typing), faxing, scanning, and maintaining office supplies
- Prior experience in a medical environment is highly preferred; clinic experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD\-10/ICD\-9\), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is advantageous
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with discretion and confidentiality
- Bilingual skills are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and office management tasks
- Experience with insurance verification processes and familiarity with Medicare guidelines is beneficial
