Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail\-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join our team. This multifaceted role combines financial management, bookkeeping, and office administration to ensure the smooth operation of our organizations. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, proficiency with various accounting software, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. Experience with construction related accounting practices is preferred, along with a solid understanding of GAAP and financial concepts. Responsibilities
- Manage day\-to\-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
- Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP standards
- Perform financial report writing and analysis to support organizational decision\-making
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial planning activities
- Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge of governmental accounting requirements and non\-profit accounting standards if applicable
- Manage office administrative tasks including correspondence, scheduling, and document organization
- Ensure accuracy in double\-entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation
- Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports
- Supporting financial structure as the company scales
- Helping create systems that are thoughtful, durable, and human\-centered
- Acting as a steady, ethical presence during growth and learning phases
- Minimum 10 years proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, ideally within construction or trades related sectors
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with GAAP is essential
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits \& credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and tax preparation is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing skills)
- Ability to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports for management review
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Knowledge of payroll processing and budget management techniques
- Professional certification such as CPA or equivalent is desirable but not required
- A SODO showroom displaying multiple furniture prototypes
- Relationships with highly skilled wood shops, steel fabrication shops, upholstery shops, and specialty trades

SD\&S carefully deconstructs early 1900's Seattle homes, salvaging old growth framing material which is then staged, cleaned, processed, and transformed into bespoke furniture and architectural pieces through OGI.
