The purpose of this job is to support the Airport Manager with assigned tasks and serve as a resource for division\-wide matters. Participates in the development and administration of departmental budgets. Oversees special projects, including grant administration, accreditation, researching and developing reports, capital improvement planning, and serving as liaison to outside agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities \- The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job\-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

  • Administers Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Missouri Dept of Transportation (MoDOT) grant agreements, reimbursement requests, and grant\-related expenditures.
  • Prepares billings for airport tenants, aircraft charter landing fees, and ID badges.
  • Prepares and monitors airport division budget.
  • Coordinates Airport Advisory Board meetings; adheres to legal requirements and guidelines.
  • Drafts council memos and reports, prepares attachments, and creates files for agenda.
  • Arranges travel and processes expenses.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • No supervisory authority. Work may require providing guidance and training to others.

  • Education and Experience \- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered

    Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s Degree or 2 years of college.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in administrative support, customer service, and/or records/fiscal administration.
  • Licenses or Certifications

  • None.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all\-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position

    Knowledge of:

  • Relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), and the City Code of Ordinances.
  • Generally accepted accounting procedures and principles; financial record\-keeping practices, inventory control methods, policies, and guidelines.
  • Grant and contract administration processes and procedures.
  • Basic business English usage, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Common business software applications such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Skill in:

  • Typing and/or data entry with minimal errors.
  • Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience
  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data.
  • Conducting research.
  • Project management.
  • Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exercising sound judgment in making critical decisions.
