We are looking for an Accountant II to join our capital assets management team. This employee performs accounting assignments involving the preparation of financial statements and reports. Applies accounting principles and procedures to ensure that financial reports and records are accurate and timely. You will help prepare reports for the State of Texas on capital assets. Day to day, you will perform cost transfers, journal entries, purchase orders for the department, and process approvals in our purchasing software.
You will be working in our University Center Tower location in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. This position is classified as non\-exempt and is eligible for all UTHealth benefits, including healthcare coverage and participation in a State of Texas retirement program. The training period will be on\-site, and whenever year\-end processing is underway, you will be on\-site. Some remote days will be allowed from time to time, as needed.

- Utilizes university purchasing software and monthly financial statements to capture controlled and capital purchases throughout the university.
- Produces departmental purchase analysis utilizing reports and spreadsheets. Communicates with the
