Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail\-oriented Medical Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing medical documentation, coordinating patient information, and supporting clinical operations. This role requires proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, medical coding, and administrative support within a healthcare setting. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to ensure effective communication and seamless patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation review.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and Dentrix for data entry and management.
  • Perform insurance verification and facilitate billing processes, including medical billing and CPT/ICD coding.
  • Assist with patient intake, scheduling appointments, and front desk duties using multi\-line phone systems and office management software like Microsoft Office and Eaglesoft.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and ensuring proper health information management.
  • Support care plan development by coordinating with clinical staff and updating electronic health records accordingly.
  • Conduct administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing medical office documentation.
  • Provide excellent patient service through phone etiquette, appointment scheduling, and clerical support at the front desk.
  • Ensure accurate coding with ICD\-9/ICD\-10 standards for Medicare billing and other insurance claims.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure smooth clinic operations and efficient documentation processes.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical office administration or healthcare coordination, preferably in a clinic or dental office setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with medical coding including CPT, ICD\-9/ICD\-10 codes, and Medicare billing procedures.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and other office management software.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills with clerical experience such as filing, faxing, and multi\-line phone handling.
  • Bilingual capabilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
