As an Assistant Controller at Rick Hamm Construction, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations and administration management. You will oversee accounting activities and human resources related to construction , ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. - Seeking a seasoned construction accounting person to help in multiple departments, including executive assistant duties.
- Oversee Subcontract processing, Invoices and supporting documentation including insurance certificates.
- Assist and oversee Accounts Payable, Contract Administration, Accounts Receivable
- Assists with the month\-, quarter\- and year\-end closings
- Perform additional accounting assignments per Controller's direction.
- Assist and oversee Inhouse payroll, 80\+ full time employees. Prevailing wage and non\-union payroll
- Manage all aspects of construction project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction accounting or finance
- Working knowledge of lien waivers and release processes
- General knowledge of commercial insurance as it pertains to certificates of insurance.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills
- Detail\-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross\-functional teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
- Very good communication, written and verbal and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem\-solving ability
- LCP Tracker knowledge a plus
- Textura, Procore, GCPay knowledge a plus
