Role Overview
You own the four walls of your restaurant: people, operations, sales, and profit. You develop winning teams, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and keep the business compliant and humming every shift. While you’ll be assigned to one “home” store, you may support nearby locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
People \& Culture
- Recruit, hire, and onboard a high\-performing, diverse team; maintain a strong bench for all roles.
- Build schedules that meet demand while protecting labor targets and compliance requirements.
- Coach, recognize, and hold team members accountable; conduct performance reviews and corrective actions.
- Model a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace aligned to company values.
- Set and enforce hospitality standards at the counter, on third‑party platforms, and for catering.
- Resolve guest issues on the spot with empathy and ownership; monitor reviews and drive service recovery.
- Ensure every shift meets standards for food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Oversee opening/closing, cash management, deposits, and loss prevention.
- Maintain strict food safety: temperature logs, date/label systems, allergen procedures, and sanitation.
- Maintain all health permits; ensure at least one Certified Food Protection Manager on staff and all food handlers hold valid cards (company\-paid) per California rules.
- Own P\&L results; manage controllables (COGS, labor, waste) to targets.
- Forecast sales, schedule labor to demand, and place accurate orders; manage inventory and vendor relationships.
- Analyze KPIs daily and weekly; create action plans to improve results.
- Execute local store marketing, neighborhood partnerships, and event/catering outreach.
- Uphold brand standards across in\-store and digital channels (menus, photos, pricing, promos).
- 5\+ years of progressive leadership in fast‑casual/QSR; prior GM experience strongly preferred.
- Proven success leading teams of 20\+ in a high\-volume, fast\-paced environment.
- ServSafe (or equivalent ANAB‑CFP) Certified Food Protection Manager (or obtain within 60 days); valid California Food Handler Cards for all staff; working knowledge of California health and labor regulations for restaurants.
- Strong command of restaurant analytics: labor modeling, food cost, inventory turns, and cash controls.
- Proficiency with POS systems, delivery marketplaces, scheduling/inventory tools, and basic spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and guest recovery skills.
- Physical requirements: stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 50 lbs; bend/kneel/reach; work near heat/cold.
- Reliable transportation to travel among San Diego locations as needed.
- Company pays for required Food Handler training/exams and compensates time to complete them.
- Ensure meal and rest breaks, reporting\-time pay, and split‑shift premiums are scheduled/paid properly.
- Maintain records and postings required by California Labor Commissioner and local agencies.
